Hey again! Yes, yes I know. The site is called Magic The Gathering Singles, but I haven’t told you anything about singles yet! Give me a break, the site is only a day old at this point! Alright, so let’s get down to business. Today, I’m going to go over why it’s so important to buy Magic The Gathering singles no matter how you play Magic The Gathering. if you’re playing in your garage and you’re on a severe budget, you should still buy singles because it allows you to craft YOUR deck and not rely on the luck of the draw when buying cards in bulk. If you’re playing tournaments, that’s even more important that you should buy Magic Singles – this way, you’ll be able to finely tune your deck and smoke the competition. Here is a list of sites that provide Magic The Gathering cards that I’ve bought from.

Card Kingdom – These guys are pretty good. They have decent prices and their shipping is decent. I’d buy from them until I find something better.

Star City Games – These guys prices are pretty darn good, but they seem to be out of stock of a lot of things. I guess the demand is so high that they just sell too many. They need to order more, so I’d only check here if Card Kingdom is off putting to you.

Deck Squad – I happen to know the owner of this site personally. The site isn’t fully operational yet, but he’s one of the biggest card dealers in the St Louis and Midwest area and i fully expect him to smoke everybody else in pricing and shipping time. (He’s in the midwest so he can ship faster to each coast of the United States that the other two). Keep an eye out for this guy. He’s a cool dude and he really knows his stuff when it comes to Magic. I’ll buy from him exclusively once he gets his site up. I already do at tournaments.

Hey everybody. It’s me again, here to cheer you up with another exciting adventure in magic the gathering singles. Okay, so for those of you that have played Magic The Gathering tournmants before (a lot of them), this post may by moot. If you haven’t, you might learn something. Today, I’m going to cover how to prepare and get ready for your first magic The Gathering tournament.

As we all know, there are douchebags in every aspect of life, If you’re a boxer, you’re going to find douchebags that like to box. The same is with Magic The Gathering. If you’re not on your toes, there are going to be people that want to win so badly that they’ll make fun of you and overall just try and degrade and domoralize you during the match. Watch out for these people, as that’s their goal – to win. These people may also even try to cheat, which leads me to my first point….

1. Read over the Magic The Gathering Rules

It might not happen during your first magic the gathering card tournmant. it might not happen during the second one, but eventually, you’re going to have somebody that is trying to cheat when playing against you in the tourney. It’s YOUR responsibility to spot these people and take them out and stop them from cheating. Yes, there is a judge available, but you only call him over if YOU spot the cheating first. If you’re unable to spot cheaters, they’ll succeed. (an alternative to the judge is to punch them in the face, but that’s not recommended).

2. Get your materials ready.

- Buy Magic The Gathering Life Counters – you’re going to need these to keep track of your lift. You can also use a notepad, but this looks amateur.

- Buy A Notepad – this is useful for writing down general things happening in the game. (e.i. you got to look at your opponents hand, and you can write down all their cards so you don’t forget what you saw – yes. this is legal!)

3. Build your deck or buy a custom deck

A lot of times, people are in shock as to how much decks cost when you buy all of the cards individually at a local card shop. This is because the card shops have to pay to have the cards shipped to them, they have to pay somebody to stock them, they have to pay somebody to man the register and so on and so forth. Shop online people. Ecommerce stores that you find online that sell Magic Cards are much cheaper and in some cases, you can even get free shipping. There are some links on the site linking to magic the gathering stores (if they’re still there). Check them out and use them instead of spending the gas and spending more for your cards at your local shop.

That’s it ladies and gentlemen. Now go unleash 4 bad moons and some unholy strengths!

Hey everybody! Welcome to Magic The Gathering Singles. Today, I just went into the card shop by my house and I was looking for some Shards of Alara stuff – me and my buddies in the garage wanted to have an only Shards of Alara night, so that’s what I was there to do. It was wednesday…I had to find me some shards magic cards or I would surely be pwned by my friends in the Garage. That’s when I stumbled upon these Magic Shards Theme decks. Now, In the past I haven’t had much luck with theme decks since they’re made for noobs (no offense if you’re a noob, we all were), but I decided to try them out, as I didn’t have much time. I bought a few and tested them in the garage and seriously, they work pretty damn well. We played 10 matches, and I ended up winning 7 – just with Theme Decks.

Even if you’re a seasoned player (as I consider myself to be), I would seriously recommend picking up one of these theme decks for like..10 bucks or something and playing them against your friends. When I did, I found out that a) my idea of shitty cards upon first glance actually happen to serve a purpose sometimes and b) I got humbled. I thought I was a fantastic deck builder, but it seems that the theme decks do almost just as well as I do. I’ll have to get back to the drawing board and really scrutinize what I’m doing when I’m building decks. It was a shock that I won so many to my friends too – they were like “What the hell? WITH A THEME DECK?” Yep. Shards of Alara Theme Decks are pretty damn good guys. That’s all for today. So long Magic Players!
